Meet the Founder
Liz Turner
Founder of House of Hope Midwest
Liz Turner is the founder of House of Hope KC, but long before House of Hope existed, her life was already anchored in serving people.
Where It Began
In December 2009, Liz moved to Kansas City with her husband Kyle to plant Kingdom City Church. Since September 2010, Liz and Kyle have faithfully pastored the church together, building a community centered on faith, growth, and the belief that people are created for more than they have ever realized.
From the very beginning, Liz carried a deep and persistent burden for individuals and families who were struggling simply to keep up with life. While the church actively served the community through outreach efforts, Liz sensed there was still more to be done — something more focused, more intentional, and more directly positioned to help people navigate practical challenges with dignity and hope.
That vision eventually became the House of Hope.
Liz’s heart has never been about providing temporary relief alone. Her passion has always been rooted in helping people see beyond survival mode — to recognize their value, their potential, and the possibility of a different future. She believes people are not defined by their current season, and that hope is always available to those who need it the most.
Liz and Kyle have three children — Blaire, Graham, and Goldie — who remain a constant source of joy and perspective in the midst of the mission and movement that House of Hope has become.
Those who know Liz best often describe her as passionate, determined, full of life, deeply caring, and relentlessly hopeful about what is possible for others.
Because at her core, Liz holds a conviction that continues to shape everything she builds: Your story is not finished. It is still being written, there is always more available, and it is better than you could ever imagine.
